Welcome RCMS Wildcats!
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Rabun County Middle School, I want to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year. I have heard so many wonderful things about Rabun County Middle School, and I am honored to be a part of this wonderful family. We will work hard this year to maintain our focus on academic growth and continue the great academic success that has earned an amazing reputation for RCMS in years past. We will also work hard to build strong relationships with our students and our community as we partner to build engaging educational experiences for our students. It is my belief that the students that walk these halls represent the future for our community, and we want to help them understand how they can set goals for success and through hard work and dedication reach these goals and their full potential.
Please let me tell you a little about myself. I have lived in White County for the past 20 years with my family. My husband, Doug, and my three boys: Travis, Austin, and Preston. We have a small farm and that keeps us very busy. This will be my seventeenth year in education and I have been able to serve the students of White County as a paraprofessional, teacher, instructional coach and an assistant principal. I am very excited to make the transition to beautiful Rabun County as your principal. I look forward to meeting with you and getting to know you and your student. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns and feel free to stop by the office and meet me at your convenience. This is going to be a fun and exciting year and I believe that together we can do great things~

My name is Avery Lawrence. I am a lifelong resident of Tiger, GA, and a 1995 graduate of Rabun County High School. I am excited to be returning to Rabun County Middle School for the 2020-21 school year! I previously taught mathematics at RCHS before becoming an assistant principal at RCPS. This is my third year at RCMS. My wife Nawana and I have one daughter, Casi, who is also a graduate of RCHS. She has blessed us with a beautiful little granddaughter, Anni, who will be in 1st grade at RCPS this year, as well as our handsome grandson, Homer Liam. My faith and family are what drives me! I am blessed to be the pastor at Persimmon Baptist Church in the beautiful Persimmon Valley Community. I am looking forward to another year at RCMS. Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you or your child.
