Rabun Families,

Governor Kemp announced schools will remain closed for in-person instruction through April 24th.

We will continue online instruction through April 24th. Rabun County Schools will be closed April 3rd - April 10th for Spring Break. Students are allowed to work on assignments during this time. However, no additional assignments will be made during this break.

The Nutrition department will serve meals on Monday and Thursday of next week. During Spring Break, we will return to meals once a week and those meals will be available on Monday, April 6th.

Rabun families, 

First of all, I want to thank you for your support this week.  As we navigate through another week of learning at home, we want to support you and your children in any way possible.  If you need a Chromebook, please contact our tech support numbers provided on the website. There will be another distribution on  3/25/20 from 10 AM till 2 PM.

There are lots of rumors floating around concerning schools and the coronavirus.  All of our updates will be communicated through our website and REMIND.  At this time, schools are closed through March 31st.  If this is extended, we will update you through the methods mentioned above. 

This upcoming week, meals will be provided for students on Monday and Thursday.   Meals are provided for free to all children between 2 and 18. They will receive 6 meals on Monday and 4 meals on Thursday.  Please visit the website for locations and times. 

Georgia has suspended Milestone testing for this year.

To limit the spread of COVID-19 and protect the public, the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) encourages families to access self-service options online during this period.  Please feel free to use the Rabun County School devices to access the following sites.

Visit: gateway.ga.gov (verification documents can also be uploaded and case status info is available for all benefits)

Those without internet access can contact the DFCS Customer Contact Center at 877-423-4746 for additional information or to request a paper application. Once completed, applications and any required verification can be mailed back to your local county DFCS office.  County office locations are available online at https://dfcs.georgia.gov/locations
