Valdosta State University

Looking to go from a paraprofessional to certified teacher?  We wanted you to be aware that at Valdosta State University they have a program for elementary teachers that was specifically designed for paraprofessionals to become certified teachers. The program is fully online, the classes are 8 weeks in duration, and it has a unique all-inclusive pricing structure. You can learn more about the program here: https://www.valdosta.edu/programs/bs-elementary-education-online/  They have worked hard to ensure that people completing this program are as well qualified and ready to be in a classroom as people completing our traditional face-to-face program.

Gordon State College

Gordon State College’s very affordable online parapro-to-teacher program. Since we are a state college within the University System of Georgia, our tuition is just $106.80 per credit hour. Qualifying parapros can earn a BSED in Elementary/Special Education or a BSED in Secondary Education in English for a very low total cost, often within just a few years.

We have outstanding faculty who are experts in their field, and currently, Gordon State College has 130 juniors and seniors in practicums and internships. We also offer online foundational courses all year long to help candidates prepare for one of our fall cohorts, and there are any parapros who would make outstanding teachers, we would be happy to speak with them.

Information about the parapro-to-teacher program is on our website here
